Please join the Navy SEALs Fund - Brotherhood Beyond Battlefield in supporting Vietnam Veteran - Navy SEAL Brian Rand-UDT Class 29 with immediate assistance!
Brian is now homeless following a late night fire the destroyed his home.
Thanks to his Hero Dog - Curly - Brian made it out alive.
Brian was deep asleep when he felt something nudging him. It was Curly, which prompted Brian to wake up. He walked into the hallway, saw heavy smoke and immediately grabbed Curly to run outside.
“They had water on that fire within four minutes,” Rand said. “By the time they got there, though, the whole attic was engulfed in flames.” If not for Curly, the roof would likely have collapsed on Brian while he slept.
The fire was extinguished, but the ceilings are gone, and the entire attic is charred. Most of the home was destroyed, but firefighters were able to save Rand's medals from his service during the Vietnam War.
Through these frenetic, tough days, Rand has kept his smile and jolly laugh. It’s all about perspective.
“I went thorough a lot of negative times in Vietnam days,” he explained. He said he served 32 months in Vietnam as a Navy SEAL. “Nothing will ever get worse than those” months, he said.
Brian and Curly are currently displaced from their home and the Navy SEALs Fund is asking you to please help us care for this American Hero, any amount is greatly appreciated.
100% of your donations will be given to Brian for immediate assistance needs and recovery support. This relief of some of his burdens as he is assessing the damage to determine how to move forward with replacing and rebuilding. Brian lost nearly everything.
